A huge THANK YOU is due our outgoing board members, many of whom have served the full six years allowed by our bylaws. These are:

    - Andy Cooley
    - Jeff Kray
    - Marci George
    - Marni Osborne

A special note is that Jeff served 5 of his 6 years on the board as its president. This is an incredible contribution in both time and talent. His impact on the club simply cannot be overstated - thank you Jeff!

It is with a heavy heart, that CMAC shares the news of the loss of a man known to many.  On Saturday morning, Dan Beason set sail in stormy weather on Lake Washington.  He went overboard, and despite many attempts, his best friends were not able to recover him.  They are still searching.

Dan was an accomplished skier, backcountry enthusiast, ice climber, sailer, water skier, and all around outdoorsman. When his son Andrew, and daughter Katie joined CMAC, racing as Mitey Mites, Dan served on the CMAC board and took on many tasks with the support of his wife Kris.  He acted as a Mitey Mite rep to the board, and as a team Dan and Kris were an integral part of race registration and the program.  As a family, the Beason's embraced CMAC and personified what CMAC stands for.  Dan's endless enthusiasm, work ethic, good nature, and dependability showed him as an example to all.  He was a strong asset in race registration, volunteerism, assistance on the hill, and being the parent that all should strive to be.  Dan was beloved and appreciated by racers, parents, and staff alike.

One of the most repeated things about Dan, is that he lived each day to the fullest.  His smile and energy were contagious even in the most brutal conditions on the hill.  Dan showed everyone how much he loved his life, family, and the outdoors.  One of those people who got the job done, while having a great time.  There will be a celebration of Dan's life Saturday, January 18th, at the Meydenbauer Bay Yacht Club from 2:30 - 4:30 pm.  In lieu of flowers, the Beason's prefer a donation to be made to one of Dan's favorite charities.

Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Puget Sound

                     or

    Northwest Weather and Avalanche Center

Dan lived larger than life, and he will be remembered the same way.  Please join his family and friends in prayer, that Dan will be recovered soon.

    Dear CMAC Family,

Hi, my name is Cameron Stone an alumnus of CMAC. I had the pleasure and honor to ski for the CMAC racing program beginning as a Saturday J6 through my senior year of high school as a FIS racer. I have many fond memories training and racing with my coaches and friends. I learned several valuable lessons through CMAC that I will maintain for life. One of the most important lessons I learned was how lucky and fortunate I was to be apart of this elite sport. I am well aware of all the sacrifices and hours of volunteer work it takes to support youth ski racing.

I am now a sophomore at WSU focusing on Mechanical Engineering. Last year I joined Pi Kappa Phi fraternity at Washington State. Through our philanthropy I have an amazing opportunity to help the less fortunate that are living with disabilities. This summer I will be cycling from Seattle to Washington D.C. on the “Journey of Hope.” This effort is to raise awareness and fund-raise on behalf of people with disabilities. The link below is to my “Journey of Hope” home page that explains the details and what it accomplishes. I truly appreciate you taking the time to read the attached information.
