I want to share some information about how CMAC will operate this winter. There are still some unknowns based around what requirements and limitations due to COVID-19 might be in place from Crystal Mountain Resort, its parent Alterra and the state of Washington. Here’s what we know at this point.
This summer CMAC acquired experience operating in pandemic conditions with the two very successful camps at Mt. Hood. We all wore our masks in the lift line and skied only in small groups. We were able to pull the mask down while actually skiing and training.
When Crystal Mountain Resort announces their procedures for mountain operations, we will update everyone on the specific details of how CMAC will comply. A few key items that we expect will be required:
Everyone has a mask.
Temperatures are taken before participation.
We will assign a specific coach to your group and communicate drop off/pick up times and locations. We will not meet under the Gondola as in the past, we cannot have any large gatherings.
Registration is now planned to start September 15 and extends for 3 weeks through October 6.
If the pandemic necessitates significant changes in the program or (in the worst case) Crystal Mountain is unable to operate, we’ll refund your registration fees, so you can register with confidence. The standard CMAC refund policy is available here.
I think that we can still have a fun and productive season. I look forward to seeing everyone on the mountain!
Thank you Dale
