CMAC’s U12 boys and girls competed against the best racers in the Pacific Northwest at Stevens Pass, with impressive results. The girl’s team placed first overall, while the boys just missed the podium.
In Friday’s action (the kid’s first ever super G), the girls were led by Anna Gibbons in 3rd and Halle Janssen in 7th. Evie Wright had a tough fall and many thought her season was over, only to see her return to form on Saturday in the GS. Evie placed 10th, following Claire Walters in 7th, and Anna Gibbons in 6th. In Sunday’s slalom, CMAC placed four girls in the top 10: Anna Gibbons and Kate Jendrezak nailed the podium with in 2nd and 3rd places, followed by ever-improving Evie in 6th, and Halle Janssen snagging 10th place.
CMAC’s boys failed to crack the top 10 in any of the events, but showed great depth with multiple near top 10 finishes. Top-20 finishes included:
- SG: Lewis White 11th, Zach Derwin 13th and Graham Barwick 14th
- GS: Zach Derwin 11th, Lewis White 12th, and Tripp White 16th
- SL: Georgie Honeybone 11th and Lewis White 16th
