CMAC 2012-2013 Programs
Saturday Mighty Mite Prep ($600) Age 7-11
Our Mighty Mite Prep program offers a 10 week introduction to ski racing. The prep program is available to skiers born in 2001-2005 (ages 7-11 as of December 31, 2012) and meets one-day a week on Saturdays from January 5 through March 9. It’s designed for skiers who want to try racing while working on their all mountain skiing skills. Skiers should expect to spend the majority of their time with coaches in directed free skiing. As the season progresses coaches will add limited race training. Skiers interested in the program must be able to ski parallel(no wedge) and be able to independently load Chair 7(Gold Hills) without assistance. This program includes the skiers’ race entry fee into the Sally McNabb Cup race at Crystal Mountain. Prep skiers are invited to participate in CMAC’s Warm-Up Slalom and MM Giant Slalom races and White Pass's Bantam Cup for an additional fee. Skiers in the Prep Program need a USSA license only if they plan to participate in the Warm-Up Slalom or MM GS races. Qualified skiers who desire more race training should sign up for the Sunday Mighty Mite Race Program.
Additional Training Option: Prep skiers can add Mid-Week Training at Snoqualmie Pass (Wednesdays in January through March) for an additional fee of $400.
Sunday Mighty Mite Race ($980) Age 7-11
The Sunday Mighty Mite program is a one-day a week formal ski race program. It is designed for the serious skier who is interested in developing his or her race and all-mountain skiing skills by participating in a race program. Skiers should expect to split their time with coaches in directed free-skiing and regular gate training. The Sunday program is available to skiers born in 2001-2005 (ages 7-11 as of December 31, 2012) and meets on Sundays at Crystal from December to March. Skiers must be able to ski parallel(no wedge) and load Chair 7(Gold Hills) without assistance. In addition, skiers must be comfortable on intermediate and advanced runs in a variety of conditions. This program includes the skiers' race entry fee for the Warm Up Slalom and MM Giant Slalom races and coaching at 2 away races – Bantam Cup(White Pass) and May Day(Mt. Bachelor). Sunday Mighty Mites are invited to participate in Friday afternoon free skiing at Crystal, fall dry-land training at Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island, and Christmas Camp at Crystal at no additional charge.
Additional Training Options:
- All Sunday Mighty Mite racers can add on Mid-Week Training at Snoqualmie Pass (Wednesdays in January through March) for an additional fee of $400.
- U12 skiers(born in 2001-2002) can add on Saturday MM Skills starting in January for an additional fee of $590.
Saturday Advanced Prep ($750) Age 12-13
The Advanced Prep program is a one-day a week racing and all mountain skiing program. It is designed for the experienced skier who is interested in developing his or her race and all-mountain skiing skills by participating in a race program. Skiers should expect to split their time with coaches in directed free-skiing and regular gate training. The Advanced Prep program is available to skiers born in 1999-2000 (ages 12-13 as of December 31, 2012) and meets on Saturday at Crystal starting with Christmas camp in December to March 9. This program includes the skiers’ race entry fee for Warm-Up Slalom and the racers will be encouraged to enter some additional U14 races as recommended by the coaching staff. Advanced Prep skiers are invited to participate in fall dry-land training at Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island and Christmas Camp at Crystal at no additional charge. Advanced Prep Skiers will need to purchase a USSA license.
Additional Training Option: Advanced Prep racers can add Mid-Week Training at Snoqualmie Pass. Two programs are available (Wednesdays or Thursdays) which run from January through March for an additional fee of $400 per program.
Junior Program ($2350) Age 12-15
The Junior program is a full time formal race program. It is designed for the experienced skier who is interested in building his or her race skills and striving to reach his maximum potential at USSA level competition. Skiers will compete in the PNSA U16 and U14 series races. The Junior program is available to skiers born in 1997-2000 (ages12-15 as of December 31, 2012) who want to train up to 5 days a week (Wednesday through Sunday) from December to March. The Junior group meets Wednesday and Thursday evenings at Snoqualmie Pass and Friday, Saturday, Sunday days at Crystal. Junior skiers are invited to participate in fall dry-land training at Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island, Thanksgiving Camp at Sun Peaks and Christmas Camp at Crystal at no additional charge. Juniors interested in additional training can participate in the fall Colorado training camp for an additional fee.
FIS Program ($2450) Age 16-20
The FIS program is a full time formal race program. It is designed for the experienced skier who is interested in building his or her race skills and striving to reach his maximum potential at USSA and FIS level competition. The FIS program is available to skiers born 1996 and before (ages 16 and older as of December 31, 2012) who want to train up to 5 days a week (Wednesday through Sunday) from December to March. The FIS program meets Wednesday evenings at Snoqualmie Pass, some select Thursdays at Crystal or Snoqualmie, and all Friday, Saturday, Sunday days at Crystal. FIS Program skiers are invited to participate in fall dry-land training at Luther Burbank Park on Mercer Island, Thanksgiving Camp at Sun Peaks and Christmas Camp at Crystal at no additional charge. Juniors interested in additional training can participate in the fall Colorado training camp for an additional fee.
Master’s Program ($525) Age 20+
CMAC offers a Master's program for skiers 20 years old and older, beginning in December and running until March. No previous racing experience is required. The program consists of a mixed schedule of free skiing, technical training and gate training on Saturdays and Sundays. Starting in January, we will compete in local races some weekends and train at Crystal in between. To participate in races a USSA Master's Competitor License is required. Masters who prefer to train at Crystal on race days are welcome to train with CMAC J1/J2 skiers. CMAC will host one Master's event in January. We would like to invite Masters racers without CMAC skiers to volunteer to help us on race days this season. Please let our Volunteer coordinator - April - know if you are interested in volunteering at a home race.
*Note all prices above are for early registration and payment. Early registration and payment is from September 1 to October 14, 2011. After October 14 all program prices will increase by $100. Payment must be postmarked/recieved by October 14th or will be subject to a late fee of $100 per registration.
**Skiers determined unable to ski at the appropriate level will be given a refund minus a $50 processing fee.
